Pick & Crop — Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 2, 2026
1. Who Is Responsible for the Service?
Pick & Crop is operated by the developer identified as the seller or provider in the applicable App Store listing. For privacy questions or requests, contact pickcrop.support@gmail.com.
2. Photo Processing
When you tap Analyze Photos, Pick & Crop uploads downscaled copies of the photos you selected and, when useful, temporary face-detail crops. These images are used for AI-assisted photo selection and crop recommendations.
Full-resolution originals remain on your device. Pick & Crop does not intentionally write uploaded image bytes to its own Firestore database or persistent object storage. The images are transmitted through Google Cloud infrastructure to Google AI services and may exist temporarily in memory, network buffers, and provider systems as needed to process the request and maintain security and reliability. Their processing is also subject to the applicable service-provider terms.
Cropping, optional Auto Enhance, metadata handling, album organization, saving, and moving originals to Recently Deleted occur on your device after your review and confirmation.
3. Account and Service Data
The app automatically creates a pseudonymous Firebase account. We process and store service data needed to operate Pick & Crop, which may include:
- A Firebase user identifier and a purchase-linking token.
- Free and subscription credit balances and subscription status.
- Job status, processing mode, source-photo counts, and optional face-detail counts.
- Model and token usage, estimated processing cost, request latency, app version, platform version, and error information.
- Idempotency and transaction records used to prevent duplicate processing or duplicate credit grants.
This service data may be linked to the pseudonymous account. Pick & Crop does not currently use a third-party advertising or cross-app tracking system, and it does not use this information for targeted advertising.
If you contact support, we also process the email address, message, and other information you choose to provide in that correspondence.
4. Purchase and Subscription Data
Purchases are processed by Apple. Pick & Crop receives and retains limited purchase information needed to verify and provide the subscription, including Apple transaction and original-transaction identifiers, product identifier, purchase and expiration dates, subscription status, revocation or refund information, App Store environment, and the Pick & Crop account-linking token.
We do not receive your full payment-card or bank-account details. Purchase information is used to grant monthly photo credits, restore purchases, handle renewals and refunds, prevent duplicate grants, provide support, maintain accounting records, and meet legal obligations.
5. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide AI photo-selection and crop recommendations.
- Perform local saving, enhancement, metadata, and album actions that you approve.
- Authenticate the app and protect the service with Firebase App Check and Apple App Attest.
- Maintain credit balances and subscription access.
- Restore purchases and prevent duplicate charges or credit grants.
- Diagnose errors, monitor reliability and cost, and improve the service.
- Respond to support and privacy requests.
- Comply with legal, accounting, tax, security, and dispute-resolution obligations.
6. Service Providers and Disclosure
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose information only as needed to operate the service, comply with law, or protect users and the service. Current providers include:
- Apple: App Store distribution, StoreKit purchases, subscription management, App Attest, and related platform services.
- Google Firebase: pseudonymous authentication and App Check.
- Google Cloud: Cloud Run service delivery, Firestore account and usage records, operational logging, and Secret Manager.
- Google AI services: AI analysis of the downscaled photo proxies and optional detail crops.
These providers process information under their own applicable terms, privacy commitments, security measures, and legal obligations.
7. International Processing
Information may be processed in countries where Apple, Google, and their service providers operate. Where required, transfers are handled under the legal mechanisms and safeguards used by the applicable provider. Contact us if you need more information about processing relevant to your jurisdiction.
8. Retention and Account Deletion
Retention depends on the type of information and why it is needed:
- Uploaded photo proxies: Pick & Crop does not intentionally persist them in its own database or object storage. Temporary copies may exist only as needed for request processing, security, and provider operations.
- Account, job, usage, and credit records: retained while needed to operate the account and generally deleted through the in-app account-deletion flow.
- Operational and security logs: retained for a limited period according to configured cloud logging and security needs.
- Support correspondence: retained as reasonably needed to respond, maintain support history, and resolve disputes.
- Purchase records: limited transaction and subscription records may remain after account deletion when reasonably necessary for restoration, refunds, accounting, dispute resolution, legal compliance, and duplicate prevention.
Deleting your account does not delete photos from your device and does not cancel a subscription managed by Apple.
9. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also have the right to complain to a local data-protection authority.
You can:
- Cancel the first-analysis disclosure without uploading photos.
- Decline any recommendation before saving.
- Manage or cancel a subscription through Apple.
- Delete your Pick & Crop account in Settings.
- Contact pickcrop.support@gmail.com to make a privacy request.
We may need to verify a request and may retain information where required or permitted by law. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.
10. Automated Recommendations
Pick & Crop uses AI to recommend a photo among similar candidates and suggest a crop. These are creative recommendations only. You make the final decision, and the recommendations do not produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.
11. Security
We use measures including TLS in transit, Firebase authentication, Firebase App Check, Apple App Attest, access controls, restricted service accounts, and managed cloud infrastructure. No service can guarantee absolute security.
12. Children
Pick & Crop is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Where local law requires a higher age for independent consent, a parent or guardian must provide any required authorization. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information improperly.
13. Cookies and Tracking
The iOS app does not use browser cookies and does not track users across other companies' apps or websites for advertising. The public support website does not intentionally use advertising or analytics cookies. Hosting providers may process ordinary network and security logs when the website is accessed.
14. United States Privacy Disclosures
Depending on applicable state law, categories processed may include identifiers, internet or electronic activity, commercial or purchase information, user-provided support correspondence, and selected photo content submitted for processing.
Pick & Crop does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Applicable requests may be sent to pickcrop.support@gmail.com.
15. Changes and Contact
We may update this policy as the service, providers, or legal requirements change. Material changes may be presented in the app and may require renewed acknowledgment.
Questions or requests may be sent to pickcrop.support@gmail.com.
